Review: Twinings Earl Grey Tea

  Overall Rating:

Taste: 4 of 5 leaves: Quite a good cuppa!

Steepability: 5 of 5 tea leaves – this tea is easy to make!

Tea Type: Bagged

Served: Nothing added

Twinings Earl Grey is a great bagged tea to keep as a stand-by in the tea cabinet. As with other Twinings teas, the earl grey bagged is always consistent. With every step you will get the classic earl grey experience – strong black tea with hint of bergamot citrus flavor.  Typically with bagged tea, compared to loose-leaf-tea, the flavor is muted. But, with Twinings bagged tea this is less so. This earl grey still has good flavor. This tea has nutty black tea taste with bergamot adding a brightness.

Pro tip: This tea is great for making Almond Earl, a super easy tea cocktail! Check it out here.

As Abby said, this is a great standby. I use a BIG mug and like my tea STRONG sonic you’re like me I recommend 2 teabags or the loose leaf version of this tea. Nice flavor, very traditional early grey in every way. They would have been around for 300 years if this wasn’t a good tea!

Check out the history of the company, it’s a very interesting read.

  1. Hi, interesting to read your thoughts on one of my favourite teas. Especially as I like my tea medium weak the opposite to how you like yours, strong. I look forward to reading more of your tea reviews, Chloe.
