This tea has bite!  Rishi Pu-erh Ginger is no weak, sweetened ginger tea. No, Sir. It’s the real deal, with actual ginger pieces mixed with beautiful tea. The blend of pu-erh and real ginger makes for a rich dark chocolate-brown tea, with a light herbal aroma and sharp, strong taste. *Top tip: the longer you brew it the stronger the tea AND ginger flavors will get!

Typically, when tasting tea blends, I like to taste the tea first and the most, with hints of the other blended ingredients to help amplify or extenuate the tea flavors. This is definitely not the case here and I don’t even care! I love the punchy, spicy flavor so much that I don’t mind that the pu-erh tea flavors are pushed to the background. Don’t get me wrong, you can certainly still taste the tea, but it plays second fiddle to the robust ginger.

Give this tea a try if you are looking for bold flavor. I think this is a great tea for any season and would make a terrific iced tea, but for me its best for the fall because the spicy ginger warms you right up!

This is a DARK tea! I like strong tea but I was surprised by just how dark this was! You could easily mistake this tea for coffee. It’s kind of like the Guiness of tea. Dark, malty & flavorful. The ginger does play the starring  role, but the pu-erh tea base is very nice. I would certainly keep this one in my tea stash. I’d also highly recommend it to anyone trying to make the switch from coffee to teas since this is the darkest I’ve come across! It’s also one of the most unique teas I’ve tried. It would be a great gift for an adventurous tea-lover!
