I’ve been searching for an acceptable milk substitute for my tea since learning that my baby has a milk protein allergy.
So I tried three kinds: coconut, almond and oat milks. Coconut and almond milks have a sweet taste and flavor that is nice in some teas. However, the almond or coconut flavors really come across strongly and change the flavors of the teas. If you’d looking for a substitute that is closest to real milk, oat milk is the best I’ve tasted. It is still sweeter than milk, and has a slightly grainy texture but it has the cleanest taste. Phew, at least I found something acceptable! Thanks to my little sister, Anne, for the excellent suggestion.
