The Spice & Tea Exchange hits all the marks with Mystic Dragon! A blend of Japanese sencha and Chinese dragonwell with hints of strawberry and rhubarb. It is beautiful with its burst of yellow and blue popping out against the pretty green tea leaves. It has a light fruity aroma while steeping and the flavor is unique and unexpected. It is light and grassy like most green teas, but it also had a wonderful sweetness to balance the green tea. For me, the strawberry and rhubarb were indistinguishable, but gave the tea an air of fruit without being too sweet.

Pretty to look at, lovely to smell and it tastes great! This tea is a bit tricky though. Because it is a green tea it can easily be over steeped if the water temperature it too high and/or if it is left to steep too long. This tea is delicate and to get the best results for sipping keep a close watch on this one.

On re-steep this tea had a very different taste, though it was still nice. Most of the fruitiness was gone, the green tea in the forefront. For the second steep I left the tea in the water for close to 4 minutes. It wasn’t bitter at all and well worth drinking!

This is one of the prettiest teas that I have purchased in a while! I just couldn’t resist the beautiful yellow and blue petals and sweet smell. Luckily when steeped it didn’t disappoint! The aroma while steeping was even nicer than I had anticipated. Since this tea smells of strawberry I knew it would be sweet and I was happy to taste how pleasant the sweetness was. I find that sometimes fruit teas have a fake taste but not with this tea. I enjoyed it without any added sweetener. I’ll be keeping this on hand as a new favorite!
